ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

Last updated: March 1, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of Sitation's Terms of Service and applies to all use of the Sitation website, mobile applications, and related services. By using the Services, you agree to use them lawfully, professionally, responsibly, and only for their intended purpose as a project recording and documentation platform.

This Policy applies to:

1. Professional and Lawful Use Only

You must use Sitation only for legitimate professional, operational, business, inspection, surveying, project documentation, or related administrative purposes.

You must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, contractual duties, workplace rules, site rules, confidentiality obligations, and professional standards when using the Services.

2. Content Standards

You are responsible for all content you capture, create, upload, store, or share through the Services. You must ensure that your content is relevant, accurate to the best of your knowledge, and suitable for the project to which it relates.

You must not upload, store, transmit, or create content that:

3. Recording, Photography, Audio, and Location Data

You are responsible for ensuring that you are permitted to photograph sites, capture documents, record voice notes, collect measurements, or record observations using the Services.

You must not use the Services to secretly monitor individuals, capture information in restricted areas without authority, or record personal data in a manner that breaches privacy law, employment obligations, surveillance rules, or workplace policy.

If location services are enabled, you must ensure that any geotagging or location-linked records are used appropriately and lawfully. You must not falsify location data or rely solely on location tags where precision is critical.

4. Accounts, Access, and Shared Projects

You must keep your login credentials secure and must not share accounts in a way that creates unauthorised access or undermines audit trails.

You must not access a project, workspace, or record unless you have been authorised to do so. If your access is removed, suspended, or expires, you must immediately stop attempting to access that project or any related data.

Project Owners must manage project access responsibly, including removing access for former employees, contractors, consultants, or subcontractors who no longer require it.

5. Fair Usage and Storage Abuse

Sitation is not a general-purpose cloud storage service. You must not use the Services to upload or retain excessive volumes of irrelevant files, duplicate media, or non-project content in order to avoid normal storage costs elsewhere.

You must not intentionally upload oversized, corrupted, repetitive, or technically burdensome files in a way that degrades the Services or disrupts other users.

Where limits apply, you must comply with upload size limits, storage allowances, media thresholds, and subscription-based capacity rules.

6. Security and Technical Restrictions

You must not:

7. Misuse of Device Features

If the App is granted access to device features such as the camera, microphone, files, photo library, notifications, or location services, you must use those permissions only for lawful and appropriate project purposes.

You must not use the App to harvest content from a device without proper authority, bypass device-level restrictions, or misuse granted permissions for surveillance, stalking, harassment, or unrelated data collection.

8. Enforcement

We may monitor use of the Services for compliance with this Policy and our Terms of Service. If we reasonably believe that you have breached this Policy, we may remove content, restrict uploads, suspend access, disable features, terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or take any other action reasonably necessary to protect users, the Services, third parties, or our legal rights.

Serious or repeated breaches may be reported to relevant authorities, clients, employers, insurers, or other affected parties where lawful and appropriate.

9. Relationship with Other Policies

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any applicable EULA. Where this Policy imposes a stricter standard of use, that stricter standard applies.
